Smooth Graphite XL Blocks in a range of degrees from hard, to very soft and onyx dark. With Derwent Graphite XL Blocks, you can create bold and agile marks with the strength and body of a chunky block or experiment with grating and cutting.

Derwent Graphite XL Blocks are highly versatile water-soluble blocks that can be used for broad coverage and expressive mark making. Break into pieces or grate into a powder for detail and dry textures. Use wet for painting techniques such as splattering and translucent washes. Each chunky block contains a high volume of formula, equivalent to 8 pencils. The soft pastel-like XL block has been ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in your hand for large scale drawings. Use the edges and corners of the block to add fine detail and line work to atmospheric and tonal artwork.
