Pebeo Marbling Bath is an additive used to thicken water prior to Pebeo Marbling Paints being added. Prepared in advance, the thickener bath solution enables more control and manipulation of colours and patterns when marbling. 

Instructions:

Prepare the thickening bath in advance by sprinkling 2 teaspoons of Pebeo Marbling Bath to 1 litre of cold water. mix vigorously with a whisk and leave to rest for 2 hours. Pour a layer of gel 1-2cm thick into a large tray.

Pebeo Marbling paints can now be added to the surface of the bath using a dropper. Allow the drops to spread for a few seconds before working them with a stick. By orienting the colours in different ways, it is possible to obtain varied patterns and marbling: pebbles and combed spots. Simply place the drops of colour one inside the other to obtain concentric spots.

Once the marbling has been created, delicately place the fabric or paper to be decorated, cut to size, on the surface of the coloured bath. Let it sit for 10 to 15 seconds before removing it. Rinse quickly under running water to remove excess gel + colour mixture. 

Place the decorated support on a flat surface and allow to air dry. this will take approximately 5 minutes.

Marbling effects can be created on light coloured fabric, papers, wood and plastic. When marbling fabric, fix the colours with a warm iron on the reverse side of the fabric for 5 minutes.

Simple shaped objects can also be decorated using Pebeo Marbling Paints, ensure all sides can become in contact with the coloured bath without immersing it, by carefully rotating the object on the surface of the bath. Allow to air dry. Clean up using warm soapy water.
